BACK TO THE 'BORO 2022
640 eager volunteers, 75 community projects
BUILDING UP A SWEAT FOR THE COMMUNITY.
It was a day of service and fun as Rowan University students assisted their Glassboro neighbors with home projects during the annual Back to the ’boro event.
Presented by the Student Government Association and the Office of Service Learning, Volunteerism & Community Engagement, students spent two hours on Sunday, April 24, performing clean-up and spruce-up projects at 75 community sites. That included projects for 44 homeowners. Students received a spirited sendoff for the day from Rowan President Ali A. Houshmand.
Working on a sunny Sunday, students weeded and mulched, trimmed trees and plants, and spread gravel. They also painted and power-washed houses, decks, and gazebos and even washed a few windows.
After the event, students and community members came together for an on-campus barbecue.
