More than 2,000 future Profs celebrate Accepted Students Day

Rowan University is in demand.

On April 12, prospective students and their family members and friends highlighted that when, despite cold temperatures and a steady rain, more than 5,500 people—including more than 2,000 students—converged on the Main Campus for Accepted Students Day.

Presented by the Office of Admissions, Accepted Students Day included: campus tours; information sessions focusing on academics and financial aid; a festival featuring games and music; and informational tents hosted by schools, colleges, programs and services. Accepted Students Day was open to first-year, transfer and international students who have been accepted at Rowan.

According to David Naphy, associate director of first-year admissions, this year’s group of accepted students already is making its mark on Rowan. The University received more than 20,000 admission applications this year—the most in University history.

“Rowan,” Naphy told a crowd gathered on the intramural field, “is the place to be.”

A top 100 public research institution, Rowan is the nation’s third fastest-growing public research university. In the past decade, enrollment has doubled to more than 24,500 students.

“There’s something to do at Rowan every single day,” Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students Kevin Koett told attendees during a brief welcoming ceremony.

“In addition to getting a world-class education, you’ll have people here who really care about you. Welcome to the family. I hope to see you in the fall. Let’s go Profs!”
