13 ceremonies. More than 1,800 graduates. And a week of very special memories.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the resilient Class of 2020 came together—at appropriate social distances—to celebrate their Commencement with long-anticipated walks across the stage during Commencement Week.
Held July 14-16, Commencement Week featured 13 ceremonies led by deans under a tent on the University Green. Multiple ceremonies were held each day with no more than 150 graduates and two guests per ceremony.
Ceremonies included the national anthem, remarks from the deans, the reading of the names and the traditional tossing of the tassel.Â
After each ceremony, a team of Rowan professionals sanitized all seats and common areas in preparation for the following ceremony.
While the University-wide Commencement ceremony was held virtually on May 9, individual college ceremonies were postponed due to the pandemic. Rowan planned the mid-summer events after Gov. Phil Murphy announced small ceremonies could be held after July 6.
After the long wait, joy prevailed. Come back to see more glimpses of the Class of 2020 celebrations. In-person, virtual and live-streamed, we're proud of you and thrilled to share the memories.
Congratulations, all of #Rowan2020!
